High profile Estate Agents research suggests that Floorplans are one of the most important aspects of property presentation to prospective buyers. Buyers are less likely to enquire about a property without a Floorplan available.

When surveying their clients over a third of potential buyers said they were less likely to enquire about a property without a Floorplan available. They said they wanted to see the room layout and where the rooms fit in relation to the others, gaining an understanding of the flow of the property.

Of the Floorplan itself buyers want to see room dimensions. Home buyers rated room dimensions as the most important feature when looking at a Floorplan.

The Floorplan is more important than the main image or summary description, the survey also showed that other than the number of images a property has, a Floorplan is most important when looking for a property. One buyer commented that ‘ pictures can be deceptive, a Floorplan is more definitive’ another said ‘I don’t want to waste time being misled by good photographs.

This is probably the reason that 1 in 5 buyers would ignore a property listing completely, or only re-visit it if there was nothing else caught their eye, if the property had no Floorplan available.

‘ The absence of a Floorplan is a barrier’ commented one home hunter ‘Iam less likely to arrange a viewing without first seeing a Floorplan’ was also common feedback from potential buyers.

Time pressures also have influence on choosing to view a property ‘Time is a commodity and normally I wouldn’t view a property where a Floorplan is not available’ said one buyer.
